Privacy statement

When you use FED-LOGIN, it processes your personal data. This procedure is governed by the following Federal ordinance:

Federal Law on Information Security at the Confederation

(SR 128 "Information Security Act" of 18 December 2020 (as at 1 January 2024))

Regulates the processing of information for which the Confederation is responsible and ensures the secure use of the Confederation's IT resources.

Ordinance on Federal Identity Management Systems and Directory Services

(IAMV, SR 172.010.59)

Regulates the identity management systems (IAM systems), the directory services and the central identity repository of the Federal Administration.

Ordinance on the Processing of Personal Data and Data of Legal Entities Arising from the Use of the Federal Electronic Infrastructure

(OPAFI, SR 172.010.442)

Regulates the handling of personal data also with regard to standard services (including the eIAM service).


Your personal data is forwarded by FED-LOGIN to the connected Swiss public service applications (Confederation, cantons, communes) during the login procedure. In the cantons, the handling of this personal data is regulated by cantonal legislation.

The following data may be involved in the data processing operations described above:

  • Your name details
  • Your date of birth
  • Your ID card/passport number
If you have your identity for FED-LOGIN verified by Swiss Post in a LID procedure, or via Intrum's video identification service, they will process your personal data in advance and pass it on to FED-LOGIN for storage. This third-party data processing is also regulated by the IAM Ordinance.
