Privacy statement

If you use the login function of the eIAM Developer App, your personal data will be processed. This procedure is regulated by the following pieces of federal legislation:

Federal Law on Information Security at the Confederation

(SR 128 "Information Security Act" of 18 December 2020 (as at 1 January 2024))

Regulates the processing of information for which the Confederation is responsible and ensures the secure use of the Confederation's IT resources.

Ordinance on Federal Identity Management Systems and Directory Services

(IAMV, SR 172.010.59)

Regulates the identity management systems (IAM systems), the directory services and the central identity repository of the Federal Administration.

Ordinance on the Processing of Personal Data and Data of Legal Entities Arising from the Use of the Federal Electronic Infrastructure

(OPAFI, SR 172.010.442)

Regulates the handling of personal data also with regard to standard services (including the eIAM service).

For the login process, the eIAM Developer App opens the login web page of the Swiss Federal Administration's eIAM identity and access management system in a browser window outside the app. There, the login is carried out via one of the identity providers offered. When using these identity providers, personal data flows from the identity provider to eIAM and eIAM forwards this to the eIAM Developer App for display to you; the personal data is not processed further in the eIAM Developer App.

The following data may be involved in the data processing operations described above:

  • Your name
  • Your date and place of birth
  • Your gender
  • Your nationality
  • Your AHV number
  • Your postal address
  • The contact details provided, such as email and phone number
Which data elements from the above list are included is controlled by the identity provider used. If a login account is not available for any of the identity providers offered, a login account can be opened with the identity provider AGOV in the self-service without incurring any costs.
